LIVESTOCK EXHIBITOR INFORMATION
AUCTION RULES All market exhibitors with animals tagged and recorded as eligible for Glenn County Fair Junior Livestock Auction are eligible to participate. This event will consist of an online auction and a virtual show. You can participate in just the auction or both the auction and the show. We are unable to offer the show only. Exhibitors may show two market animals or pens of rabbits, if they were tagged for the fair. However, exhibitors may only sell one market animal or pen of rabbits and one beef replacement heifer. Steers, beef replacement heifers, pigs, lambs, goats, and rabbit meat pens are eligible to show and sell or sell only. Due to the Virulent Newcastle Disease outbreak we will not offer a poultry division. This is a terminal sale for all market animals. Quality of Your Product: Nothing has changed in the quality of product that you set out to produce for your buyer. Do not cut corners on feeding your animals. Buyers offer premium prices to exhibitors for their animals, they deserve a premium product. Buyer’s Letters: Get those letters out! We have an incredible outpouring of community support but you need to do your part to get in touch with those amazing folks. Awards: Buckles for Supreme Champion, Banners for Reserve Supreme and Division Champions for all species. Minimum Weights: Steers: 1000 pounds; Pigs:215 pounds; Lambs: 110 pounds; Goats: 60; Pen of Rabbits: 3 pounds each. Divisions: Enter as you would have entered the fair. Independent exhibitors enter as you would have at the fair based on age. See California State Fair rules. Green: Traditionally known as 4-H Blue: Traditionally known as FFA Entries: Entry Fee: $25, non-refundable. Regardless if you show & sell or just sell. There will be a $10 commision taken out of the sale of each animal. Entry Deadline: April 30, 2020. We will accept late entries for an additional $10 fee through May 8th. We understand this is short notice, but we are on a tight timeline for this virtual event. The entry process will be two-step. Step 1: On or before 4/30/2020, please submit your entry and payment. Link here If you have any questions email glennagexpo@gmail.com. Step 2: All entries will submit a video and a picture of their animal. The video is to be taken the week of May 3-8th. Videos, estimated weights, bio and Drug Residue forms will all be due May 8th. Attached is an example of how to do a video. Don’t have access to clippers? That’s okay, we have qualified judges who are able to evaluate animals before or after being clipped. We certainly encourage you to present them as you would to show. They should all be clean, hide and hair (wool or fur) conditioned and well fed up to the point of the show. 4-H is encouraging, but not requiring you to wear your uniform. Check with your FFA advisor prior to taking video for permission. Just do your best! Sale dates: May 15-16, 2020. The online sale will be hosted on the Easy 2 Bid website. Here is a link to the sale. http://ez2bid.com/ At the time of delivery, animals will be again evaluated for market readiness and minimum weight requirement. If they do not pass those evaluations or a veterinary inspection, the animal will be disqualified from the sale. Exhibitors or agents will be contacted to pick up disqualified animals. All monies will be returned to the buyer. Also due to state regulations, an additional drug residue form will be required at animal drop off. Instructions for animal drop off will be provided as we get closer to the event. We will make every effort to sell every animal entered in the online sale that meets the requirements. We make no guarantees that an animal will sell. In the event an animal does not sell, the exhibitor is not required to deliver the animal to the Glenn Ag Expo drop off point.
